Hi,
Found your Kilby site. I am a Roberts descended from Mary Kilby and
James Roberts of the UK.
I have no information on either Mary or James prior to Mary and her sons
Thomas (my great great grandfather) and James sailing from Plymouth to
NSW in Australia on The Ida in 1864.
Thomas was born in Islington in 1846.
Would love to know ANYTHING about my Kilby relations.
PS GREAT SITE!

Hi
I am trying to trace an old penpal of mine whom I lost touch with
years and years ago but with whom I would like to try and make
contact now before we both disappear into eternity!
She is Janey Kilby (of course she's probably been married at least
twice since then) born 1949 . her father was George Little and she
had at least two brothers - Barry and Jeffrey. If my memory serves
me correctly they lived in California.
My name as she would know it is Susan Gorrill and I lived in
Sheffield UK.
Is there any way you could help?
Many thanks
Susie

Ricky,
I am a Kilby from Lake Clear, Ontario Canada. I saw a posting on your
guest book page from Thomas Kilby, who is my 1st cousin. Unfortunately,
his email address no longer works so I am unable to email him directly.
I have in my possession a Kilby family bible that belonged to my
great-great-grandfather who was Thomas Kilby, born in Holland in on Dec.
7, 1807. We believe he was of English descent (father possibly British
Army). Would love to hear from anyone that my have more information on
him.
Thanks,
Kim

Hi

Hello from USA.
I am Van Kilby (Full, formal name is Van de Car Kilby. My father's
mother's maiden name was Anna Van de Car, so Van de Car is my first
name. I have no middle name.)
I'm 76 years old and have lived in the state of Rhode Island since I was
12.
My father was Paul Bailey Kilby, originally from New York state. His
father was William Kilby from the upper-state New York area. During
their lives, my parents had collected some genealogic information which
I do not have at hand right now. When I do get to it I'll try to
remember to post it to you also.
I do remember one work-up done for them showed a line back to
William-The-Somethingth in the 1100's AD.
Our family came to the US very early in our history and the first
Governor of Massachusetts (Gov. Brewster) is in the lineage somewhere.
Don't know if any of this admittedly sketchy info might interest anyone
on your end.
Thanks,
Van Kilby
------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank
you contact and
please feel free to forward any more
details as you find them, I'm sure there are more Kilbys out there that

Hi
Ricky, Just discovered your interesting site, I was born in
Havering-atte-bower Essex UK 24/3/41 John Kilby. My father was Arthur
Frederick Kilby my mother was Doris C Kilby (nee dePont). My father
never knew his parents as he was put in the Greenwich Naval
College by his father when he was a boy and had no contact when he
finished his schooling there, I do believe that he had a brother who had
two boys but that was when I was only a kid so memory fails on that one,
I might have an uncle or some cousins out there somewhere who I haven't
met and would be nice to contact them. I live in Australia now since
1967 and have married an aussie.
Thanks

There are several Lakes and developments in Virginia as well as a Prison

electronic device.

I've
just been browsing looking for Kilby family trees. I do know that Henry

and that mans surname was Kilby. I live in Australia and born here. The
Kilby name comes from my grandmothers maiden name and there's a belief
there is alot of fisherman and others I can't think of. If you have any
information of Kilby family in Australia would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
My "great" grandmother was Edwina Kilby from Culpeper County,
Virginia who married Robert B. Sutphin on July 4th, 1892 also in
Culpeper. Edwina spelled her name "Edweana" as she wrote
it in her family bible. Edweana's parents were James Franklin Kilby and
Caroline Elizabeth Wise Kilby also from Culpeper, VA.
I have been doing a little research on the Sutphins and Kilbys and think
I can add some information to a few missing pieces. But also need
some help on the Sutphing who were also from Culpeper/Fauquier Counties,

Hey
Ricky, your American Cousin here. You may gladly use what I wrote
on the origin of the name (just please clean up some of the grammar)...I
wrote that so long ago, I have no idea where you got it, but it's as
accurate as I could get from the sources I had at hand.
I
prefer to think they came from Kilby, England near Leicestershire.
But we may never really know.

My
great great great grandmother was Elizabeth Kilby who married Isaac
Oakley in Luton in 1844. She had 7 brothers and sisters and I have
traced their children and grandchildren. These include a Horace Henry
Kilby who worked in the family hat lining business, so I believe I can
help Sarah Day and perhaps oters with family from Luton and also Hitchin,
Kimpton and Offley, Hertfordshire. If anyone has a genuine interest in
Kilby families from this area, please e-mail me at familytree@tiamatrocks.plus.com

Dear
Jenie,
Thank
you for your comments, what's interesting here is I have recently found
out that there is a Horace Kilby in my tree, who I believe to be the
brother of Stanley, Florence and Dorothy. Although I am in the process of
verifying this; I believe he was born in 1880 and would mean he was the
first born of Thomas and Elizabeth. Keep an eye on the family tree as
there are some extras to be added - reference the maiden names of
Elizabeth and Mary.

Hi

Nice of you to remember me, unfortunately my old grey matter is drawing
a blank on the names to faces, but I do remember regulary meeting up
with 3 or 4 of us upstairs in the Leisure Centre and just lounging about
there. We were their only customers sometimes, unless they had a show
on. Didn't we used to go down the Corn exchange? and some of those
nights are definitely vague (southern comfort competitions!!)Didn't
Steve Wallbanks go with us on occasions?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi
Ricky,
Yes we did go down the Corn Exchange at the grand age of 15, as well as
disco's at Gloucester House, which has also been pulled down. Most of
the time we were the only customers in the Leisure Centre, but the
prices as I remember suited us. Steve Wallbanks was around at the time,
but I used to hang around with Jeff Challis and Tim Stimpson.
I used to have a Suzuki AP50 moped at 16 and we used to hang around the
back of the Leisure Centre outside the Venture House Youth Club, trying
to impress the girls.
I haven't got any photos of those days, but even my wife Jackie Simpson
remembers you.
But you're right the memory does let you down at our age.
Cheers.
